Dr. Andrea Watson | Board-certified Family Medicine

I remember as a child at 7 years of age, I would ask my parents for medical books instead of a bunch of toys for Christmas. I also fondly recall when I was sick, I would try to diagnose myself. When my parents did take me to see the doctor, I would listen with so much intensity to the doctor’s diagnosis, and then check my self-diagnosis to see how close I was to theirs. LOL.

As I reflect on these moments, I realize that my calling to be a doctor started at the tender age of 7.

I love family medicine because I get the opportunity to build relationships with my patients and to learn all about what is important to them. As a person, we are more than just our diagnosis. We are the sum of the mind, body, spirit, and soul… and this makes us uniquely beautiful. There’s only one of you! And in life, there is always time to continue to be the best version of YOU!

However, over my 14 years in the field, I have seen medicine practices become increasingly constrained. I have always desired to take the “norm” and make something spectacular in regard to patient care. The short visit filled with “I am running behind again; I just wish I had more time”, is now replaced with timely appointments that can last up to an hour.

After developing COVID in early 2021, and struggling for months with post-covid syndrome, I went to see a doctor for answers. He spent 2 hours with me at that visit. I was literally shocked that a doctor could take that much time in an office visit to get to the bottom of health issues. He was able to get to the root cause of my post-covid issues, and as a result, after the appropriate treatments were prescribed, I felt tons better.

My trajectory and future for family medicine had changed forever. I wanted to practice in a similar style as that doctor and have my patient in front of me feel like they have the spotlight and are the most important person in the world.

Transitioning to Watson Family Medicine, a concierge-style practice, has given me the keys to operate a clinic that I can say I am beyond proud of. Each and every patient is like family to me. We can live this life happier and healthier together!

Medical Education

I completed medical school and earned my MD degree at Saint George’s University, graduating cum laude. I did my residency at the University of Kentucky. I am a Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician, active member of the AAFP, and member of the Baptist Health Foundation Board. I am ranked at the 97th percentile for patient satisfaction.

On a personal note

I am happily married to my husband, Eric Watson. I am the proud mother of 3 beautiful girls, Massia, Elisabeth, and Zion. We love to ride bikes together, go for long walks, and swim. We also love our Starbucks! We are a Christian-oriented family and enjoy attending church together.

Lillian | Membership Coordinator / Office Manager

I have had the pleasure of working with Dr. Watson for over 11 years and am excited to join her at Watson Family Medicine. I am very excited to come on board and assist in bringing this new concept to our community.

I received my LPN diploma in 2004 from Southeast Community College in Lincoln, NE. My family and I moved back home to Kentucky shortly after my graduation. I worked at an urgent care center for 6 years, and in 2010, was introduced to family practice, which I’ve been doing ever since.

I love family practice because I enjoy helping others and our patients truly become family. I enjoy meeting new people and look forward to bringing new patients into our practice. I am excited to share our beautiful office with the community!

I live in White Mills, KY on 5 acres with my husband and our two dogs, two cats, and cows. I love the outdoors, hiking and taking nature pictures. I have two sons who are young adults and look forward to our family growing in the future.

Heather | Medical Assistant, Phlebotomist

I have been in healthcare for over 25 years. I started as a Certified Nursing Assistant at a local nursing home, and after six months, I knew I wanted to do more. I went back to school to get my Certified Medication Technician (CMT), which allowed me to administer medications to my patients. In 2014, I graduated with my associate degree in Medical Assisting and Phlebotomy. I worked in the area of drug and alcohol addiction before joining Dr. Watson’s family medicine practice.

I live on a farm in Hodgenville with my fiancé and our three boys. We enjoy spending time with family and friends.

I’m so excited to be a part of this team that we call “family”. I look forward to meeting all our members and building rapport with them. Knowing at the end of the day that I have helped just one person truly makes me a better person, and I strive to be better than the day before.

Brianna | Receptionist

I am excited to bring to Dr. Watson’s family medicine practice my experience with office administrative support since 2018 and customer service since 2019.  My interest in and dedication to the medical field began with receiving my pharmacy technician certification from RxCrossroads.

What I love about Watson Family Medicine is being able to interact with different people and having them know that they matter to us. I value getting to know our patients personally, treating them like family, and making them smile.

A little about me… I was born and raised in Elizabethtown, KY. I love spending time with my family, traveling, and decorating.

I am happy to be a part of this journey with Dr. Watson and our members!
