MEET DR. WATSON
Dr. Andrea Watson | Board-certified Family Medicine

I remember as a child at 7 years of age, I would ask my parents for medical books instead of a bunch of toys for Christmas. I also fondly recall when I was sick, I would try to diagnose myself. When my parents did take me to see the doctor, I would listen with so much intensity to the doctor’s diagnosis, and then check my self-diagnosis to see how close I was to theirs. LOL.
As I reflect on these moments, I realize that my calling to be a doctor started at the tender age of 7.
I love family medicine because I get the opportunity to build relationships with my patients and to learn all about what is important to them. As a person, we are more than just our diagnosis. We are the sum of the mind, body, spirit, and soul… and this makes us uniquely beautiful. There’s only one of you! And in life, there is always time to continue to be the best version of YOU!
However, over my 14 years in the field, I have seen medicine practices become increasingly constrained. I have always desired to take the “norm” and make something spectacular in regard to patient care. The short visit filled with “I am running behind again; I just wish I had more time”, is now replaced with timely appointments that can last up to an hour.
After developing COVID in early 2021, and struggling for months with post-covid syndrome, I went to see a doctor for answers. He spent 2 hours with me at that visit. I was literally shocked that a doctor could take that much time in an office visit to get to the bottom of health issues. He was able to get to the root cause of my post-covid issues, and as a result, after the appropriate treatments were prescribed, I felt tons better.
My trajectory and future for family medicine had changed forever. I wanted to practice in a similar style as that doctor and have my patient in front of me feel like they have the spotlight and are the most important person in the world.
Transitioning to Watson Family Medicine, a concierge-style practice, has given me the keys to operate a clinic that I can say I am beyond proud of. Each and every patient is like family to me. We can live this life happier and healthier together!
Medical Education
I completed medical school and earned my MD degree at Saint George’s University, graduating cum laude. I did my residency at the University of Kentucky. I am a Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician, active member of the AAFP, and member of the Baptist Health Foundation Board. I am ranked at the 97th percentile for patient satisfaction.
On a personal note
I am happily married to my husband, Eric Watson. I am the proud mother of 3 beautiful girls, Massia, Elisabeth, and Zion. We love to ride bikes together, go for long walks, and swim. We also love our Starbucks! We are a Christian-oriented family and enjoy attending church together.
